Wool Products
The Spicy Lamb Farm offers 100% virgin wool heirloom blankets that will keep you toasty warm.

The blankets, made from the wool of our Polled Dorset sheep, are preshrunk, hung to dry in the dry house, brushed again to make them fluffy, and then hemmed, folded and packaged for shipping.


Blankets come in lap/baby, twin, and queen sizes in a variety of colours. Special orders are available. Prices are $75 for lap and baby sizes, $125 for twin and double, and $150 for queen. A percentage of all farm sales goes to the CVNP. We also take orders and you can watch your blanket grow via our Lease-a-Sheep and Sponsor-the- Flock programs where you also enjoy farm events all year. Please email us for more information.

We also have yarn and sheep skins available. Yarn runs $18/per pound. Please specify the colour, yardage, and ply when ordering. Skins run $120. Roving woll for spinning and felting is $1/oz.

Natural Colour Wool Throws
Purchase a throw designed by Peggy Hart with all natural wool in a Herringbone or Shepherd's Check. They are black on light grey and sized sized 48" x 72". Throws run $150.00.



Finger Puppets
Our sheep finger puppets make great gifts for children.They are $5.

We are off Boston Mills Road at the end of Akron-Peninsula Road.

(You can not reach us from SR303; GPS and Internet mapping will send you the wrong way! From SR303 in Peninsula, take Riverview or Olde 8 around to Boston Mills to Akron Peninsula Road. Remember the road is closed between SR303 and the farm.)

The Spicy Lamb is part of Urban Shepherds, a pioneer program in the USA with the purpose of promoting urban and suburban sheep grazing as a cost effective and environmental alternative to mowing,  promoting  urban farming and increasing sheep production; and educating youth and recruiting future shepherds.
 

LEASE-A-SHEEP & WATCH YOUR BLANKET GROW:
You can lease a sheep for the 2012 season at The Spicy Lamb Farm and, not only watch your blanket grow, but shear your sheep in March (10th, 11th, 17th, or 18th):

  • Visit your sheep throughout the season at any time.
  • Attend special events during the season at no charge: The Blessing of the Sheep (on April 21st), lambing days, hayrides, border collie demonstrations, and more.
  • Help shear your sheep at a shearing demonstration in the spring.
  • Get photos and reports on your ewe and the flock via email.
  • Receive an heirloom queen blanket made of wool from your ewe in time for cool weather next fall. You pick the colour of your stripes.
