Northcoast Lamb Co-Op Workshop: Using Loin Eye Ultrasound Scanning
Sat, June 11, 2016
Loin Eye Carcass Ultrasound Scanning: Saturday, June 11 • 2-4 p.m.
The Spicy Lamb Farm will be hosting a carcass ultrasound workshop for the Northcoast Lamb Co-Op as an OEFFA event. Reservations required.
This workshop will educate sheep producers about the value of using ultrasound, not only for selecting breeding stock, but to set required muscle quality attributes necessary to produce a higher quality product. Funded through a grant from SARE, the Northcoast Lamb Co-Op is using carcass ultrasound of lamb crops for market acceptance and to measure muscle quality deficiencies for improvement. Join us to learn more about this technology.
This program was developed with support from the SARE program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA-NIFA). Any opinions, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed within do not necessarily reflect the view of the SARE program or the USDA. USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
Registration: This workshop is free, but pre-registration is required. To register, contact Laura Minnig at firstname.lastname@example.org by June 3. For more information about The Spicy Lamb Farm, go to www.thespicylamb.com.
