The Blessing of the Sheep is celebrated on St. George’s Day. St. George is the patron saint of shepherds. St. George is remembered, the shepherd is honored, and his sheep are blessed. The tradition originated in Greece where the flocks are roaded to the local church. At The Spicy Lamb Farm, we bring the priest to the flock. We are honored to have the Dr. Rev George Murphy bless our flock each April. Accompanying him is piper Brian McElhinney who follows the Blessing with “Amazing Grace”.
